Opening autumn 2026 · Switzerland
Second-hand in Switzerland,
with no nasty surprises.
Merka is Switzerland’s second-hand marketplace. The buyer pays before shipping, their money is held until delivery, and the seller receives the price they set. Every listing is published in French, German and Italian — one market instead of three.
The money is only released on delivery
The buyer pays on Merka before shipping, the amount is held, and it goes to the seller once Swiss Post has delivered the parcel. No more meeting a stranger, no more cash at the station.
The seller keeps their price, down to the last centime
No commission on the sale. The protection fee is paid by the buyer : 2.95 francs plus 6.9 % of the price, so 8.47 on an item at 80 francs. It funds holding the money and settling disputes.
You buy, or you get your money back
Your money stays with Merka until the parcel is in your hands. Never arrived, not as described : you get it back. We have not paid it out yet.
A disagreement? We decide
Each side has its say, and we decide while the money is still with us. Nobody has to chase anybody.
Three languages, three times the listings
You write in French, your listing also goes out in German and Italian. And you search in French for what was written in Zurich or Lugano.
Take a photo, the listing writes itself
One photo is enough : title, description and category are written for you. Twenty seconds an item — fifty in an afternoon if you run a shop.
Shop, dealer or vintage store?
AI bulk listing turns weeks of data entry into one afternoon: photograph your stock in one go, and the listings write and translate themselves. Get a head start before we open: contact@merka.ch.
